The Night

What is an R&B throwback party?

A Bangin’ & Beats™ R&B throwback party is a live, interactive music night where the DJ spins 30‑to‑60 second clips of throwback R&B and nobody calls a single number. Each player gets a custom 5×5 song card printed with 24 titles from the pool and the BANGIN’ center square. When the DJ drops a clip, you listen. If the song is on your card, you mark it. Five in a row claims the round.

The R&B side of Bangin’ & Beats runs across two era rounds: the 90s R&B Vibe Set (TLC, Boyz II Men, Aaliyah, Mariah Carey, Brandy, Lauryn Hill) and 2000s Slow Jams (Beyoncé, Usher, Alicia Keys, Ne‑Yo, Rihanna). Public nights mix them with the 90s Rap Round and 2000s Hip‑Hop Bangers, all from one 60‑song music pool.

Our flagship room is Lake Chateau Banquets in Woodbridge, NJ. Private parties run all across New Jersey and New York.

The Vibe

Three rounds. Grown, sexy, and loud.

1. Grab a card. Grab a drink. Get in early so you can settle in, get your table set, and size up your song card before the first horn stab hits.
2. The DJ drops a 30-to-60 second clip. Every clip you know pulls a reaction from somebody at your table. That’s the point. If it’s on your card, you lock it in. If it’s not, you’re already singing.
3. Shout “THAT’S BANGIN’!” when you hit five. Our Hype Emcee verifies your card and the prize loot is yours on the spot. Then we reset for round two. Between rounds: dance battles, sing‑alongs, and lip‑sync showdowns.

• Is this only R&B?

  Public nights run a mix of hip-hop and R&B across four era rounds: the 90s Rap Round, the 90s R&B Vibe Set, 2000s Hip-Hop Bangers, and 2000s Slow Jams. Private parties can go all-R&B if that's the theme.

• Do I need to sing along to win?

  No. You just need the song to be on your card and you need to mark it. But group singing is mandatory in spirit, so sing the hook anyway.

• How long is the night?

  About three hours from doors to last call: three interactive music rounds, with dance battles and sing-alongs in between.

• Can I request a specific song?

  For public nights, no. The DJ works from the night's 60-song music pool. For private parties, absolutely. Tell us the deep cuts you want on your custom throwback playlist when you book.

• Are there prizes?

  Premium prize loot every round, three interactive music rounds per night.

• Is an R&B throwback party a game or a party?

  Both. The song card gives the night structure. The music, the sing-alongs, and the dance battles between rounds are what keep people coming back.
